Your new school
Manchester based secondary school working as part of our existing team, you will support young people in a Specialist Independent School, helping them achieve through an Alternative Curriculum. Daily duties will include classroom support, mentoring, break time activities, delivery of PSHE curriculum. The role requires high levels of professional standards and the candidate will be an exceptional role model to challenging young people. Excellent presentation, communication and organisational skills are required, as well the capacity to use ICT for daily tasks such as record keeping.
Your new job
This specialist independent school is looking to secure a teaching assistant, who is confident in supporting and delivering the curriculum to students. The school have the capacity to offer teacher training for the right candidate. You could complete the qualification whilst working at the school. You will be working with small numbers of young people who have struggled in mainstream . Problem solving- avoiding confrontations- keeping pupils on task at all times of the day. We are interested in hearing from candidates that have a background in delivering Social Emotional Literacy/ Self Esteem /interventions Awareness of safeguarding.
What you'll need to succeed
Ideally you will have a breath of experience of working with young people (ideally with Social Emotional Mental Health needs or hard to reach individuals) In terms of qualification or equivalent you maybe a recent graduate or have a level 3 qualification background in youth work in Supporting Teaching and Learning as well as recent and relevant experience in a similar role. You will also have experience of working with young people. You must be passionate about supporting the needs of young people and be confident in working with young people.
