Established in 1981, Poundstretcher is the UK’s leading variety discount retailer for quality food, toiletries, garden essentials and home-ware brands. With over 400 stores nationwide, Poundstretcher stocks a huge selection of great value products at competitive prices, including kitchenware, bedding, bathroom products, furniture, electric goods, children’s toys and even pet care products within the brands “Pet Hut” section.

We are currently looking to recruit Branch Merchandiser, to work at our busy Head Office in Huddersfield. This is a demanding fast paced role and requires the successful candidate to be extremely organised.

Purpose of role:

·Take responsibility of own department in the timely and accurate allocation of stock.

·Regularly reviewing store grades within a personally assigned region and being in constant communication with a regional manager.


·Setting the profile of new lines on internal system and regularly reviewing the allocation of auto-replenishment within the merchandising team, (adjusting levels when required).

·Regularly visiting stores within your assigned region to ensure stores are happy with grading of stores and allocation of stock.

·Producing and analysing reports when necessary to gather information regarding sales, stock levels, margins etc.

·Communicating regularly with regional manager regarding performance of stores within the region, reviewing sales opportunities etc.

·Completing ad-hoc tasks given from stock distribution manger or regional manager.


·Good IT Skills (Microsoft Excel)

·Strong attention to detail

·Ability to communicate at all levels

·Good time management / organisation skills

·Numerical / analytical

·Ability to work as a team and under own initiative


Previous experience working in allocation or office environment is desirable but not essential. Graduates who have a can do attitude, will take responsibility of own work and want to progress will also be considered.


Please note a full driving licence is essential as the role will require travelling to stores 2-3 days a week within your region, this could include overnight stays for candidates allocated to Southern or Scottish regions.
