We are currently recruiting for a Content Editor to join our dedicated team in Bingley. This is a fixed term contract for 12 months.

You would be responsible for the end-to-end content management of an allocated portfolio of titles, and/or subject areas via our electronic editorial systems, ensuring quality and timely publication of content to an agreed set of key performance indicators. With a good command of the English language, you should be able to follow instructions to set requirements and specification.

As a Content Editor, you will also be responsible for the day-to-day relationship management of editorial stakeholders, ensuring that content metrics are monitored and achieved. You will also provide excellent customer service at all times, so you must be able to quickly establish credibility.

With a keen eye for detail, you should be able to produce quality work, but not to the detriment of delivering results.

Key responsibilities:

* Manage pipeline of content for an allocated portfolio of titles, and/or subject areas (submissions, reviews and acceptances) via electronic editorial systems, ensuring content is available on time to meet expectations of the company's online first publication service (EarlyCite) and appropriate journal issues;
* Monitor key performance indicators for each title/subject area (to include submission, acceptance and rejection times and rates, in total and by regional breakdown), escalating any significant variances to associated colleagues;
* Oversee full use of peer review systems (currently ScholarOne Manuscripts), ensuring rigorous double-blind peer review for journal content and full audit trail of review data;
* Coordinate and prepare reports to a number of metrics, including, but not limited to: journal submissions (total and regional representation); acceptance and rejection times and rates (total and regional representation); snapshot of content pipeline; schedule of articles published online (via EarlyCite); schedule of articles published to allocated issues;
* Manage an allocation of book titles, ensuring editorial progress and content delivery to schedule, budget and project specifications, escalating any slippage or on-going concerns to associated colleagues as required.

Essential Requirements:

* Strong English language skills

* Experience of working with MS Office and other related software packages

Desirable Requirements:

* Experience of the academic environment, and/or previous editorial and production/content management experience would be advantageous
