One of our partnership schools within East Lancashire are seeking an outstanding learning and support assistant to work 1:1 with a KS3 student with BESD.
Located close to the M65 this school is easily accessible from Blackburn, Burnley, and some areas of Preston.
Your new role
You will be working 5 days per week, Monday to Friday, 8:30am till 3:30pm. This role will be ongoing until the end of the academic year.
Your role as an SEN teaching assistant will be monitoring a student with BESD. They can be disruptive and present challenging behaviour but have been showing an increase in lesson involvement. With your skills and experience you will be able to further improve the students behaviour, increase their success in lessons, and help reduce the amount of disruption for other students.
What you'll need to succeed
Experience of working with challenging behaviour is advantageous. Candidates with NVQ level 2 upwards (or equivalent) are desirable but not essential.
References must be obtainable from previous work with children.
You must be adaptable and able to think on your feet, this role is challenging but very rewarding for the right candidate.
What you'll get in return
You will receive between £60 and £80 per day depending on experience and skill-set and access to free CPD certified safeguarding training.
