Our client is seeking an IT Support Technician to be the first point of contact for all IT related inquiries. This is a real opportunity to build a career with a highly successful organisation.

Responsibilities:

  • To resolve day to day IT issues as they arise across all operational and support locations
  • Participate in company projects
  • Record all IT support activities in the ITSM tool
  • Under the direction of the IT Infrastructure Manager administer the company backup strategy changing tapes and performing test restores where required.
  • Maintain the IT hardware register and replenishment policy.
  • Liaise with group colleagues to identify best practices and synergies.
  • Ensure compliance with company, group and legislative requirements.
  • Deputise for the IT Infrastructure Manager and other IT colleagues where required.
  • Ensure department policies and procedures are relevant and maintained.
  • Coordinate systems and processes meetings and presentations where required.Collating KPI
  • Ensure new starters have the correct IT equipment, applications and access as required to perform their functions.

  • Skills and Experience:

    • Working knowledge of an IT service desk
    • Strong technical knowledge/understanding of IT Infrastructure
    • Proven experience of working with suppliers and internal customers
    • Proven experience of working within a similar role
    • Excellent problem solving skills.
    • Methodical approach to issue resolution
    • Organised and detail focused
    • Able to adapt to shifting urgencies and priorities.
    • Effective interpersonal skills
    • Strong ability to coach and mentor at all levels for improved performance
    • Ability to work well under pressure
    • Strong aptitude for learning new technologies
    • Enthusiasm for IT and system processes
    Desirable:

    • Project Management accreditation
    • ITI/Service Management
    • Navision 2013,
    • SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS)
    • VMWare, Veam
    • NetApp
    • Desktop virtualisation
    • Project coordination or project management experience
    • Infrastructure projects
