Parts Tendering Engineer

Leeds, West Yorkshire

£32, 000 P/A + 25 days holiday (+8 stats) + flexitime

The company:

My client is a world leading rotating equipment Engineering and Manufacturing company. Within their tendering team they have an immediate vacancy for a Parts Tendering Engineer, based in Leeds, West Yorkshire. The Leeds site specialises in pumps and pumping systems for O&G, Water & Power Generation markets. They provide full turnkey solutions on site with some of the largest and most powerful pumps in the world being designed, manufactured and tested in Leeds.

The role:

Preparation of tenders and provision of front end sales support in respect of client enquiries in order to meet the objectives of the company's overall business plans and strategies.

Main tasks and responsibilities:

- Ensuring that the sales team are adequately supported and that projects are launched in a timely and professional manner
- Evaluation of customer pump application requirements to ensure that the company is able to satisfy customer needs in terms of both product and pricing
- Overall responsibility to ensure that initiated projects meet company requirements in terms of selection, pricing, terms and conditions and lead time
- Overall responsibility to ensure that customer requirements are satisfied whilst meeting local & EMEA targets
- Overall responsibility to ensure that tenders meet company commercial guidelines and have the necessary sign off in accordance with the delegation of authority guidelines
- Overall responsibility for maintaining the profit margin on tenders
- Day to day review of enquiries in conjunction with the Tendering Manager
- Responsibility to support Order Processing team in accordance with handover guidelines, procedures and company KPIs.
- Ensure application of tools and policies, procedures, codes of conduct and best practice guidelines
- Support EMEA Sales Team as directed by Management
- Attend clarification meetings with clients as required
- Participate in and actively support company initiatives
- Proactively engage and support company initiatives designed to promote a culture of safe working, environmental protection and continual improvement
- All other duties as relevant to the post

Ideal qualifications/experience and knowledge required:

- Relevant experience within related industry
- Experience of dealing with complex tenders
- Experience of contract negotiation in a commercial environment
- HNC in mechanical engineering or similar
- General computer skills
