Systems Administrator - Central Manchester - 3-6 months contract

An industry leading Software Solutions company based in Manchester City Centre, is seeking an experience Systems Administrator to start immediately.

Working as a small team across the UK this role will report directly in to the IT Operations Manager and be responsible for the daily support and management of the IT Servers and Network infrastructure resolving issues to a high standard.

Technical experience / skills:

- Previously worked in a Systems Administrator role supporting of users across multiple locations within a medium to large corporate environment that works to ITIL service management practises

- Windows Server Support - up to Window Server 2016 (Administration, Patching and Maintenance)

- Exposure to Windows services including Hyper-V / Active Directory / DFS / DNS / DHCP

- Supported Microsoft desktop and server operating systems and office applications including O365 - Exchange online and Azure Environments

- Provided desktop and server support including Windows Active Directory user account creation and administration

- Installation and administration of Cisco network equipment with diverse troubleshooting experience across LAN/WAN including MPLS and VPN services plus Cisco ASR and other firewall brands

- Administration of VoIP phone systems - Avaya

- Creation and use of Powershell (or similar) to automate IT systems deployment and administration

- Use and administration of IT security, Auditing, monitoring and alerting tool sets (SCCM, Solarwinds, openmange etc.)

- Experience of other technologies including Dell and HP Server, SAN, Veeam and Kasperky an advantage

Key responsibilities:

- Daily support of technical user issues to agreed SLA

- Effective management of IT network and server infrastructure with an attention to security / integrity and availability

- Work closely with the infrastructure team to identify IT support issues and problems to proactively handle issues

- Identify initiatives to make improvements to the IT systems and processes

- Provide both on-site and out of hours support through the on-call rota
