R-Biopharm is an international diagnostics company with over 700 employees worldwide and subsidiaries in Argentina, Australia, Brazil, China, Denmark, France, India, Italy, Spain, the UK and the USA. The company delivers ground breaking solutions in the fields of food & feed analysis and clinical diagnostics. For our production and sales company in Glasgow, we are looking for a new company bookkeeper / accounts administrator due to the retirement of the current holder of the position. Your new tasks will be: Complete accounts (general ledger) administration including accounts receivables, sales ledger, inter-company transactions Performing monthly and annual closing of accounts and preparing P&L and balance sheet Performing financial analysis and preparing reports for the management Performing cost analysis for products and processes of the company Interacting with accounting and tax auditors Reviewing payroll data and communicating with payroll agency including tax and pension related payments Handling VAT tax returns with UK and selected international tax authorities Preparing corporate tax returns Processing travel expense claims This is who we are looking for: You have gained your bookkeeping qualification through proven long-term experience: an accounting qualification like ICB or AAT is not a must. You are an expert with spreadsheets and ERP systems, preferably Sage. You are experienced in handling VAT and corporate tax matters. You have excellent verbal and written communication skills, and you feel confident interacting with management and auditors. You contribute with strong analytical skills to developing solutions with your colleagues throughout the company. You are able to supervise members of your team with accounting related tasks. Knowledge of the biotechnology industry and foreign language skills, especially German, would be considered a plus, but is not a requirement for a successful application.
