Axon Moore are looking for an interim Financial Accountant for a role in the Wythenshaw area.

You will be responsible for assisting the Financial Controller in the preparation of payroll, cash management, foreign exchange, tax, fixed assets. Ensuring that the group, statutory and audit requirements are met and that SOX controls are adhered to. You will also work on projects mid-month to improve Financial Control processes and be a customer focused Business Partner.

Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will be responsible for:

- Ensuring business transactions are accounted for correctly for financial control and that all financial impacts and implications are recognised.
- Delivering audits, both internal and external
- VAT accounting and reporting for UK & Ireland
- Fixed Asset reporting for UK & Ireland
- Co-ordination of the month end close including the balance sheet pack
- Providing an oversight over all financial processes
- Ensuring SOX adherence in the area of financial control
- Payroll and the accounting of payroll as well as the transfer of payroll to an outsource company
- Deliver finance process performance and continuous improvement for Financial Control
- Provide variance analysis for the area`s responsible for
- Examine all financial reports and data closely to check for discrepancies
- Be a motivator and lead finance team members

Person Specification:

- Part-qualified CIMA, ACCA or equivalent
- Educated to degree level or equivalent
- Must have minimum 2 years accounting experience
- Excellent analytical skills
- Advanced computer skills (Excel/PowerPoint)
- Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills especially to non-financial colleagues
- Excellent reporting skills
- Strong business understanding
- Ability to prioritise and organise workload
- Ability to produce accurate work and to pay attention to details
- Flexible attitude to work, both proactive and reactive
- Strong personal drive, an ability to make things happen and see things through to completion
- Displays strong team working behaviours and is supportive to colleagues

- Tenacious problem solver with determination to identify, flag and explain root causes of problems and make recommendations.
