Person Specification

For this Learning Support Assistant role, a driven and determined personality is key. The Headteacher of this school is looking for a professional graduate who can develop positive relationships with pupils and break down barriers to learning. An understanding of SEN is desirable, either covered in your degree or through other work experience working with children. We want to see graduates with the determination to discern the different needs of pupil's development, both academically and socially, and have an empathetic approach to these that will enable them to meet these requirements. You will be a role model to your assigned pupils.

About the role - Learning Support Assistant

Joining the school ASAP, you will receive full induction training and support from Teachers and Teaching Assistants. You will also be provided with safeguarding training. You will be working with specific pupils who may have an EHCP plan, learning or behaviour plan to follow. Your role is extremely important as you will be liaising with parents, teachers and the SENCo in order to ensure the pupils have the best possible outcomes. Students at this school come from a variety of socio-economic backgrounds. The Headteacher is passionate about ensuring each student receives the best possible start in life and a first class education.
