Holt Executive are assisting a market-leading global defence company who are looking for a Simulation and Modelling Engineer to join them. This is a very exciting role within a dynamic and challenging business that is at the forefront of complex defence engineering worldwide.

Key Responsibilities for the Simulation and Modelling Engineer - Aerospace / Defence:

  • The Simulation and Modelling Engineer - Aerospace / Defence will be responsible for the development of specific aspects of the performance model used to support a key programme within the company.
  • The Simulation and Modelling Engineer - Aerospace / Defence will be responsible for integration of components from within the team and from other projects areas.
  • The Simulation and Modelling Engineer - Aerospace / Defence will be responsible for design, implementation, test reviews and supporting documentation as well as maintaining appropriate design records, ensuring compliance with appropriate quality standards.
  • The Simulation and Modelling Engineer - Aerospace / Defence will perform technical analyses and investigations into a full range of issues and problems, and prepare and develop solutions either individually or as a member of a project team.
  • The Simulation and Modelling Engineer - Aerospace / Defence will engage with the model users, understand and respond to their needs and ensure that the model is fit for its intended use.

Key Skills and Qualifications for the Simulation and Modelling Engineer - Aerospace / Defence:

  • The Simulation and Modelling Engineer - Aerospace / Defence will have a good Engineering Degree, or Masters (e.g. Systems or Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Physics).
  • The Simulation and Modelling Engineer - Aerospace / Defence will have an understanding of, and an ability to work, within defined processes.
  • The Simulation and Modelling Engineer - Aerospace / Defence will have the ability to visualise and analyse complex systems.
  • The Simulation and Modelling Engineer - Aerospace / Defence will have an in depth experience in applying systems engineering practices to large hardware/software development efforts, preferably in an Aerospace and/or Defence program environment.
  • The Simulation and Modelling Engineer - Aerospace / Defence will have a proven track record in Simulation Modelling (Aerospace projects)
  • Experience with the MathWorks products (specifically Simulink, Embedded MATLAB and Stateflow).
  • Ability to produce a computer simulation (/Simulink model) from a mathematical specification.
  • A good understanding of the modelling process and working within a quality process.
  • Knowledge of Rational Team Concert (or similar Configuration and Management Tools).
  • DOORS (or similar Requirement Management Tools).
  • C, FORTRAN and Ada.
