Conformance Manager

As a Barclays Conformance manager, within the Wealth Conformance team, you will have a rigorous approach to risk assessment and control testing within the first line of defence, as expected by the Group Enterprise Risk Management Framework. As a Conformance Manager you will take both a strategic view of the function whilst continuing to deliver the operational goals of the function.

As a Conformance Manager your main responsibilities will involve:
-Gaining a detailed understanding of the processes under review and working with other team members to identify the material risks against the controls under testing.
-Supporting the Senior Conformance Manager in collating the final report by drafting high quality issues with action plans that management has agreed.
-Ensuring all queries and challenges from the stakeholders have been resolved by the time issues are included in the formal report, which may require influencing skills.
-Supporting the annual risk assessment across all Wealth business areas in the first line of defence as part of developing and refreshing the annual coverage plan of testing
-Supporting colleagues within Conformance team through sharing knowledge, information, best practice and test findings across the team

As a Conformance Manager your skills and qualifications will include:
-Experience in the development and understanding of financial risk frameworks
-Experience in building working relationships with senior Wealth management to ensure they understand their risks and have controls and processes in place to manage those risks
-Strong communication and leadership skills will be required to lead activity with various senior stakeholders
-Demonstrating a high level of analytic skills, consulting, influencing and presentation skills and an ability to communicate with ease risk and control gaps and credibility with senior leaders.
