An opportunity has come up for a technical and business minded 3rd line Support Engineer at a small organisation in Warwickshire.

You'll be providing infrastructure support to the IT Service Desk and act as a technical lead for IT projects and installations.

You'll need to be an excellent communicator who can work collaboratively with the IT team to suggest changes for the business and convey this to the business managers.

Key Responsibilities:
* Provide 3rd line support to the Service Desk
* Act as escalation point for 2nd Line Support Technicians
* Assist with monitoring and prioritising incoming calls to Service Desk in line with the Service Desk policy
* Diagnose and Resolve problems relating to:
- Core Infrastructure, Physical & Virtual
- Citrix Farm
- Network and networking Equipment
- Windows Servers
* Administrate and manage Active Directory infrastructure.
* Administrate and manage Microsoft Exchange environment
* Organise and implement software rollouts
* Organise and monitor daily, weekly and monthly server backup routines
* Assist in business Projects and be the technical lead on IT projects
* Administrate and maintain firewalls - rule creation and amendment
* Monitor resource availability for vmware environment and attached SAN storage
* Monitor and maintain Windows servers - availability, error logs and patching via WSUS
* Maintain a secure and organised file server structure. Modifying NTFS permissions
* Internal and external DNS management
* Produce and maintain infrastructure documentation to assist Service Desk
* Citrix Xendesktop & XenApp management using Machine Creation Services
* Monitor Anti virus solution alongside the managed solution provider
* Create, document and operate support processes
* Analyse incidents to identify and resolve root causes, document the solution/ mitigation approach
* Monitor resource capacity and performance, flag actual/emerging issues

Person Specification:
- Excellent knowledge of Windows client and server operating systems, as well as Microsoft - Office 2010 is essential.
- Excellent Knowledge of VMware ESXi 5.5+
- Excellent Knowledge of Citrix XenDesktop and Xenapp 7.6+
- Working knowledge of networking and general TCP/IP
- Self-motivated and conscientious team player
- First class customer service skills and good business awareness
- Open, collaborative, prepared to transfer skills / develop client staff
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose problems
