VHDL Design Engineer (Perm or Contract)
Eden Scott's client is a developer of leading edge products based in West Lothian. Through continued growth and success, they are now looking for a VHDL Design Engineer to join the organisation.
Within the R&D team, the role will involve working as part of a multi-discipline product design team focusing on the definition and development of both new products and the current portfolio.
Key responsibilities include:
- Creating new high-speed FPGA based digital designs and / or modifying existing designs to support delivery of new product features as per specification
- Estimating timescales based on an outline of requirements and then delivering to those timescales
- Supporting quality oriented activities to deliver a successful product
The successful candidate will ideally be degree qualified in a relevant discipline (e.g. Electronics / Physics) with proven complex VHDL design experience. Furthermore, an ability to define digital architectures from product specification is essential, as is an ability to work closely with others in a multi-discipline team. Experience in the areas of large, complex designs on Xilinx Ultrascale and Virtex 7 series FPGAs using Vivado is advantageous. Experience of board level design incorporating microprocessor, DDR, QDR SRAM / SDRAM is also beneficial.
