The Company:

Our client has been trading for over 170 years with many accreditations and awards to their name; they are a high-end, luxury bed manufacturer and provider of superior components to the furniture, footwear and automotive industries. They continuously invest in new technology which allows them to be the leader in their industry. They currently have 2 vacancies for Industrial Electricians to join their successful business to be based in at their Leeds Manufacturing Sites; however, you could also be asked to work at the production facility outside Tadcaster.

The role:

  • As an Electrician, you will be responsible for the electrical/electronic maintenance of plant and equipment, ensuring that all plant, equipment and site services are in good working order to support the requirements of a busy manufacturing company
  • Fault finding on equipment such as automated machinery which combines PLC, pneumatic and mechanical controls
  • Responsible for undertaking various electrical works to include installation, maintenance and minor projects
  • Will include planning, specifying and writing up required components for small electrical projects ready for orders to be placed
  • You will be expected to work fully with other maintenance staff to investigate faults, make repairs, modifications and updates to machinery and equipment

Requirements for the role include:

  • You must be a time served electrician, or multi-skilled with electrical bias, from an industrial background (not domestic or commercial)
  • Minimum qualifications needed are City & Guilds 2330 Level 3 or equivalent and City & Guilds 2382, 17th Edition
  • Must be able to demonstrate you have experience of installation, successful fault finding and repair of:
    • o lighting, heating and other facilities type equipment
    • o small electrical equipment within a working industrial setting
    • o large plant and equipment within a working industrial setting
    • o motors, including 3 phase induction, stepper and servo
  • Experience with the installation and maintenance of industrial automated machinery
  • Must be able to demonstrate fault finding on automated machinery which combines PLC, pneumatic and mechanical controls
    • o Ideally you can fault find using PLC programming via a laptop or SCADA system
    • o It would be a distinct advantage if you can fully program from scratch for new projects with emphasis on Allan Bradley and Siemens PLC?s. Knowledge of other PLC?s that would be considered are; Omron, Beckhoff, Keyence, Mitsubishi etc

Additional Information and Benefits

  • Supporting production, the successful candidates will work double days. You may be asked to work flexibly to cover shift holidays and sickness or other company needs, this will be fully discussed at interview
  • Rate of pay will be £13.50 - £14.50 per hour dependent upon experience and/or qualifications
