The role:

TGW Northern Europe are currently undergoing an exciting period of growth, with a growing client base across the UK, Benelux and the Nordics. As such, we are expanding our Life-time Services (LTS) division, which plays a crucial role in support, maintenance and enhancing newly-live and existing client sites.

We are now seeking two Application Support Engineers to join our newly-created Hotline Team based in our Market Harborough office. This team is responsible for providing quality technical support to TGW Northern Europe?s clients.

As an Application Support Engineer, you will act as a subject matter expert for all technical-related queries which focus on the Warehouse Control Systems, networking and server maintenance. You will ensure all requests are logged within the ticket system and take ownership through the whole process until closure, ensure a professional service is provided at all times.

In addition to the above, you will also have the opportunity to get involved with:

  • Warehouse Control Systems module testing
  • Delivering training to Resident Engineering teams
  • WCS code testing and writing to support the Upgrades & Enhancements Team.
  • To facilitate the monitoring of hardware for upgrades such as firmware and also highlight any obsolescence to the Upgrades & Enhancements team.

Please note as the Hotline Team will work on a 24/7 basis, you must be available to work a shift pattern.

Skills & experience required:

The ideal candidate will be an experienced application support professional, preferably having previously provided a support service to external customers. You will also have experience of SQL and/or Oracle development and previous software testing experience.

Previous experience working on Warehouse Control Systems or sectors experience in Logistics/Engineering is desirable, but not essential as training will be provided.


  • Previous experience of application software / bespoke software support
  • Experience dealing directly with customers / end users
  • Excellent communications skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • SQL or Oracle development experience
  • Software testing experience.


  • Materials handling / automation experience
  • Experience in WCS/WMS Systems
  • Understanding of software development lifecycle across agile development
