Application Support - SQL & Linux/Unix useful but not essential.

Application Support Engineer with demonstrable experience in customer-oriented software/application support environments, preferably but not essentially coupled with knowledge of SQL & Linux/Unix, required by long established organisation to join their team as a result of continued growth & success.

The successful candidate will join a team of four receiving, logging & responding to requests from end users across a number of applications. You will have first class analytical skills & an investigative approach as well as an ability to take ownership of calls, liaising with developers in cases that need to be escalated. Given the customer facing nature of the role, first class communication skills & an approachable, friendly & warm manner are essential together with an ability to maintain relevant documentation. Further knowledge of incident management systems would also add real value to your application with any previous exposure to SQL & Linux/Unix (basic administration, installing SSL certificates, running/editing scripts, etc.) useful but not essential.
