Circuit Systems and Complexity Engineer
Permanent Role
Location : West Midlands
Salary: Depending on experience

My client is a supplier to some of the best names in the Automotive industry they are currently recruiting for a Circuit Systems and Complexity Engineer to join their ever expanding team.

The Role
*As part of the Circuit team the successful candidate would collect electrical information to set up system schematics, understand and implement customer processes
*Meet customer EDS (Electrical Distribution Systems) specifications in wire dimensioning and fuse selection
*Design of fusing strategy and power distribution
*Prepare mark-up drawings for electrical schematics and engineering change documentation
*Generate and customise design systems interface and output to support ECAD and MCAD process Review customer requirements and develop complexity to meet KSK (Customer specific Harness designs) requirements
*Review system circuit diagrams
*Obtain load current data on the relevant networks within the circuit diagrams
*Calculate wire sizes, voltage drops and fuse blow times on the relevant circuits. Using simulation tools or spreadsheets.
*Generate power and ground circuit diagrams from the circuit information provided.
*Assist EDS engineers in the design of the harnesses.
*Ensure that designs meet design rules as determined by the customer
*Create required KSK modules and harnesses
*Ensure circuit schematics adhere to customer requirements
*Analyse voltage output on relevant circuits using simulation tools
*Prototype and mass production build support
*Working with overseas teams.
*Participate in VA/VE activities
*Participate in benchmarking activity
*Develop new tools to improve working efficiency

The Candidate
*Eligibility to work in the UK
*Automotive experience preferred
*Electrical systems design experience
*Schematics drafting
*Harness Complexity (KSK and non-KSK)
*AIMS, ECRs & WERS Release processes
* Quality and reliability methods (FMEA, 8D)
*Wiring harness CAD knowledge
*Project Management skills
*Qualified to HNC electrical/electronic or equivalent
*Able to use circuit tools
*Knowledge of automotive systems practices
*Knowledge of harness design practices.
*Knowledge of automotive terminology
*Motivated self-starter
*Able to work in a multidisciplinary team.
*Strong communication and negotiating skills.
