What you need to know about this role We are currently looking for a highly experienced Data Protection expert. You will be heading up a group of specialist teams focussed on data protection, information governance, health records and Mental Health Act administration. A confident, driven and persuasive individual, you will ideally bring: - A strong background and skillset in data protection gained in a commercial or healthcare organisation - Significant experience of working on a wide range of data and information matters - An in-depth understanding of data protection legislation and GDPR - Excellent communication and influencing skills - An impeccable eye for detail - Excellent leadership and staff management skills - Experience of engagement with senior management, including at Executive and Board level With a spectrum of challenges and needs across the Charity`s clinical and non-clinical functions, you will be able to handle all aspects of this varied workload to challenging deadlines and with a high level of autonomy. You will be managing a number of teams, including Mental Health Act administration and Health Records teams, who are experts in their field, but who will need guidance and support on key issues. And a little more about you A positive, self-motivated and robust data protection professional, you will have recent experience within similar complex and fast-moving environments. You will be a leader who is prepared to challenge the status quo and lead your team through change. While a background in healthcare may be useful, an understanding of the Mental Health Act and health records is not essential as we are able to provide the expertise and training in these aspects of the role within the Charity.
