The Charity & Not-for-Profit Team of a Top 20 are looking for an Accounts Senior to provide quality accounting and periodic audit services to clients including charities and educational organisations.
This firm is a Top 20 London based firm of chartered accountants. With 33 partners and over 270 employee's working in the City this firm has a vibrant and exciting atmosphere. They have specialist areas with their charity team being one of their main growth areas. They are driven by their clients needs and work to constantly improve the level of advice they are able to provide. As a firm they Partner with their clients and create bespoke responses to each individual brief. That brief may concern a not-for- profit organisation or a firm of solicitors or company takeover; in the UK or in 90 countries worldwide.

To act as an accountant in the Charity Team, working with a wide range of not-for-profit organisations, including charities (social, religious, welfare, international development, healthcare etc) and educational organisations (independent schools, government funded schools, colleges and universities).
To carry out all accounts and periodically audit work, in compliance with the firm's and statutory procedures.
To prepare accounts, including consolidated accounts, from both manual and computerised accounting records.
To brief, supervise and review the work of junior members of the team, providing constructive feedback and support as necessary, including preparation of formal review forms (where required by the team's feedback systems).
To assist partners and managers in the charity team in attracting new work to the team, including meeting potential new clients, preparing budgets and proposals and creating marketing documents.
To provide a first class service to clients, remaining responsive and courteous at all times.
To develop a thorough understanding of clients
To seek and implement opportunities to develop and expand your technical competence.
To apply your technical competence in a manner that will improve the commerciality and operational effectiveness of the team.
- ACA or ACCA qualified, or equivalent
- A levels, or equivalent
- Experience of auditing not-for-profit organisation and preparing statutory accounts
- Ability to delegate and review files and junior team members work
- Experience of group audits, IAS and leading a team
- Sage, ProAudit and Microsoft
- Strong organisational skills and an eye for detail
- Currently working with some charities, not-for-profit and/or education sector clients
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
