An excellent opportunity has now arisen for an Information Governance Officer to join us either in Colchester or Chiswick. Alternative locations may be considered, for the right candidate.

Within this role, you will develop, implement and monitor the effectiveness of information governance, information security and data protection controls within Mears Group with particular focus on Mears Care and in line with relevant frameworks, including the NHS IG Toolkit and ISO27001/02.

You will provide subject matter expertise around information governance requirements and regulatory and legislative developments affecting information governance (including the Data Protection Act and GDPR).

Supporting key information governance roles and business stakeholders, you will assess information governance risks and identify appropriate risk treatment initiatives to mitigate these.

In addition, you will be expected to assist in driving awareness of information governance issues through the delivery of relevant training and support materials and products.

In order to be successful in this role, you should have familiarity with relevant information governance frameworks and standard sets, including but not limited to the NHS IG Toolkit and other national Health and Social Care IG frameworks, ISO27001/27002, ISO22301, PCI DSS, Cyber Essentials.

With experience of developing information governance improvement plans and strategies, you will also have experience of conducting information risk and security audits and assessments and producing output reports to management forums and groups.

Working knowledge of the Data Protection Act, GDPR and related legislation and the data protection principles will also be required coupled with the ability to interpret data from a variety of sources and produce reports based on analysis.

Candidates will also possess a full UK driving licence
