Secondary Autism Teacher January start 'Good' Ofsted 135 - 165 daily rate Excellent on-site facilities Bromley I am currently working with a 'Good' SEN school that caters for secondary aged students with ASD based in Bromley who are looking for a secondary Autism teacher to start in January on a full time and long term basis. Secondary Autism Teachers will need to be able to teach across the primary and secondary national curriculum and differentiate lessons according to their needs so would suit either an experienced mainstream primary/secondary teacher. As a secondary Autism teacher you will complete 1:1 support for students including assisting in personal care tasks (feeding, changing, toileting etc.). This secondary Autism Teacher role would suit both experienced fully qualified teachers from SEN schools or mainstream schools - experience supporting learners with Autism would be advantageous though not a necessity. The school has an amazing training scheme and induction programme and as a result, encourages applications from NQTs. The ideal secondary Autism teacher will have the following: Has had classroom based experience either in mainstream or SEN Has QTS Has experience teaching ASD students Strong subject knowledge of the primary national curriculum Experience using PECs and Makaton (preferable but not essential) Team Teach (A huge bonus but not essential) This school caters for students aged 5-16 from all over South London. Originally a dyslexia specialist school, they now cater for a range of needs including ASD, SLCN and ADHD. They work on a ratio of 4-1 pupils to therapists (SALT, OT and clinical Psychologist) and 1-1 or 1-2 teachers/support staff to pupils to provide maximum support and tailor learning to each student's needs. All staff enable multi-sensory learning across all subjects to break down barriers to learning, by using a range of resources including computers and audio-visual equipment. If you are looking for a new role and looking to start after Christmas full time and long term - please apply today!
