Personal Care LSA
An 'Outstanding' special needs in Barking & Dagenham are currently seeking a personal care specialist to work with their Reception/Year 1 class. The class consists of 5 children with profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD), physical and mental needs. The school aims to help the children develop to highest of their ability. They do not work along side the national curriculum, however each child's progression is monitored by personal achievements and growth. The school is full of state of the art facilities and resources, including a hydrotherapy pool to help with muscle strengthening and development, as well as qualified physiotherapists on site at all times. As a learning support assistant (LSA), you are required to assist with personal care of each child in the class, including feeding and changing. Experience is essential in order to offer this support. Hoist and Manual Handling training would be desired but is not essential. Experience working with early years and primary aged students.
