Sopra Steria Recruitment are now looking for a Back End API Developer to join a Greenfield project in Central London on permanent basis.

An amazing opportunity has come up for a passionate Back End Developer to join a large retailer in Central London. It's a chance to be part of something new. Back-end API developers are responsible for the server-side micro-services backbone which supports all of my clients new products via a SOA architecture. You will write RESTful services which expose eCommerce and product information for front-end developers & mobile application developers creating innovative customer facing experiences. You will be responsible for all of the back end technical design & build of the micro-services, optimizing the services for maximum speed & scalability and ensuring security & data protection is built in as standard.

We are looking for someone that ?

  • Works in Scrum, XP and Kanban teams
  • Is a specialist in back end API development
  • Is able to work as part of an Agile development team with Product Owners, Business Analysts, QA and Architects to ensure user stories & acceptance criteria (in JIRA) are valid
  • Has experience of DevOps for API delivery including CI, ideally with Jenkins
  • Has experience in deploying software to production within a large enterprise for commerce-critical applications
  • Can apply best practices including TDD, test automation, SCM with git, coding standards and CI to produce quality deliverables
  • Has experience of patterns to expose enterprise systems such as a read-only replicas using relational or non-relational databases
  • Software & application development in multiple programming languages including, Java, NodeJS, SpringBoot etc
  • Has experience in deploying to auto-scaling and fault tolerant AWS cloud environments
