SEN Teacher ASAP start 'Good' Ofsted Croydon borough 135-160 daily rate 1 year contract Excellent on-site facilities I am currently working with a 'Good' SEN school that caters for primary and secondary aged students with severe learning difficulties and other complex needs who are looking for a SEN teacher for a KS2 class. As a SEN teacher, you should have a good knowledge of the national curriculum and assessment techniques or are willing to take part in training for this. SEN teachers will also be required to take part in personal care tasks (feeding and toileting etc.) and should be able to adapt session plans to suit all children's needs. The school have an excellent induction programme and therefore will accept applications from newly qualified teachers as well as experienced SEN teachers. The successful SEN teacher will have: At least 1 year's UK teaching experience either in a mainstream or SEN school Have experience teaching students with severe and complex learning needs Strong subject knowledge of the primary national curriculum Experience using PECs and Makaton (preferable but not essential) Has QTS This school supports children aged 4-16 with SLD, MLD and PMLD and all students have an EHCP. They have a state of the art facility which is adapted to suit all pupils needs and has a large outside playground, full equipped to ensure all students can access the equipment. Class sizes are small with between 7-10 students and 3 TAs per class to ensure personalised learning and effective support.
