IT Manager / Senior Support Analyst
We are looking to recruit a hands on IT Manager / senior support analyst who has current practical experience of supporting a Windows infrastructure. This is a broad and challenging role in which you take responsibility as the sole IT professional for a growing organisation. The core of this position is being responsible for supporting the Windows based infrastructure that includes head office staff, field based sales and operational staff and remote IT equipment based on up client sites. You must have broad technical skills including a detailed knowledge of Windows, Active Directory and Exchange. Experience of building and supporting servers would be an advantage.
However there is more to this job than just support. You will be recommending what is upgraded when, any improvements that may be required and be responsible for managing the relationship with IT partners and sourcing equipment and solutions as required. To be successful in this role you will need to have current up to date technical skills to at least 2nd line support level in a Windows environment. You will need to maintain a basic network infrastructure and keep antivirus protection up to date and ensure a robust system is maintained, backed up, supported and developed.
This should include the ability to do troubleshooting on networks and in a perfect world on servers. It is not expected that you will know all the answers. It is expected that you can find them, so you should have a contact network and the ability to source answers using your own drive and initiative as you will be the most expert IT person in the organisation. Clearly as the person responsible for IT you must also be an excellent communicator who can build relationships across the organisation, be able to clearly explain where and why investment is required and most critically be able to prioritise multiple demands whilst setting clear expectations with the business.
