Project Manager - Infrastructure - Fixed Term Contract - 12 months

My client is a leading organisation in the Financial Sector with a pan European reach.

This is a key hire for my client and in the role of Project Manager role, you will be responsible for leading the successful delivery of all phases, (inception to delivery) of the upgrade to a cloud based, European wide, caller system. This will incorporate the associated infrastructure such as MPLS and the necessary telephony.
You will have responsibility for the quality of the deliverables, financial management, and the timely completion of the delivery activities.
In addition to the above you will also have responsibility for stakeholder management, together with delivery processes and governance.

Your key duties and responsibilities of the Project Manager will include the following:

Responsibility for the successful delivery of the infrastructure change program of work to budget and agreed quality and governance standards
Manage a set of internal suppliers to ensure delivery against their component plans
Provide a clear project management framework, ensuring that appropriate governance is applied.
Provide leadership to the whole technology team ensuring effective collaboration and teamwork to facilitate delivery.
Establish and manage relationships with key stakeholders across multiple countries
Enable effective governance and management engagement to support delivery. Clear and effective escalation will be expected.
Impose effective controls to the project scope, ensuring rigorous change control is exercised
Proactively identify opportunities for improving the effectiveness and efficiency of the technical delivery, or the programme as a whole.

Your background and experience will encompass much of the following:

Experienced in managing very technical projects with a solid track record of leading complex deliveries
Solid knowledge of telephony, server, storage, network, and data centre technologies and associated infrastructure services
The ability to manage and work with third party hosting providers, external suppliers and internal teams to ensure timely provisioning and implementation of solutions.
Experience of successfully engaging management and groups of technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Understand high-level technical architecture and be able to facilitate debate and drive decisions on appropriate solutions.
The ability to balance conflicting and changing demands through prioritisation and a pragmatic approach
Excellent communication skills with the ability to present, discuss and explain issues coherently and logically both in writing and verbally to senior stakeholders.
The ability to cope in a technically complex and fast-changing environment, and to respond calmly and rationally to changing aspirations in a deadline-driven situation.
Strong planning and organising skills including the ability to manage several work streams simultaneously.
Weekly status reporting to delivery boards, monthly reporting to programme boards and actively managing risks & issues.
Determination and focus to drive projects through to implementation.
Strong influencing and persuasion skills with the ability to enthuse and inspire multidisciplinary teams and build successful relationships at all levels.
