My client is established in the automotive market as a high-competence, high-quality and effective organisation. We support our customers across a variety of topics with a major focus on advanced embedded systems.

My client are looking for someone with proven ability; a Project Manager with significant experience in software project management and ideally, experience in an automotive or embedded software field. As the Project Manager, you will be essential in managing software project developing tools and applications targeting embedded processors. You will be a member of the Product Engineering team, based in York, and will work on important projects targeted to fulfil specific customer requirements.

Your contribution to something big

Plan and monitor software development activities to meet customer needs for automotive tools projects

Report on progress and difficulties encountered to senior management and to customers

Anticipate and mitigate project risks

Liaise with technical Product Manager on technical questions

Coordinate development activities with managers of related projects

What distinguishes you

Good degree in a relevant discipline e.g. engineering

At least 5 years? experience in software project management

Experience of managing software projects with a development team of up to 10

Experience of working in an Agile environment e.g. Scrum/test-driven development etc.

Strong and effective inter-personal and communication skills and the ability to interact professionally

Fluent English language skills

Good problem-solving skills

Knowledge of the automotive domain, specifically the AUTOSAR architecture standard ? desirable

Knowledge of quality management processes for the software development lifecycle ? desirable

Knowledge of MISRA coding guidelines and knowledge of Static Analysis Tools e.g. LINT, Klocwork, QA-C ? desirable

Knowledge of ISO26262, CMMI and SPICE - desirable
