BI Developer (Data warehousing, BI Stack, Tableau, Greenfield - SQL Server, Full BI stack and latest BI tools)

This is truly a career defining position where you will have the opportunity to help build up the BI team and define the BI roadmap. With over £60 million in investmentAt the moment, there is some business intelligence in place but most of this work is being done by an offshore team. You will be given the scope to use existing resources to help the first few stages of implementing robust business intelligence solutions, where you will then have the opportunity to build up a team within he U.K (from scratch.)

The main objective of the investments into Business Intelligence is for analytics and reporting - reporting being at the forefront. There are currently no stakeholders in the business receiving reports and therefore little communication between departments, and little insight into the operational and business performance. This needs to change if the company are going to reach their ambitious (but realistic) goals in the next 2 years. If they have managed to grow this big without BI, imagine what they can achieve with the right person implementing a sleek Business intelligence function.

In terms of Technology, they are a Microsoft house running on SQL Server. They will be using the full BI stack (SSIS, SSRS, SSAS) as well as some other tools for visualisation and insight analysis. They've implemented Tableau but there is also talks of PowerBI/Tableau/QlikSense for the reporting, but we will leave it up to your knowledge and experience to help plan what tech to implement. They are also planning to migrate everything into the latest tech as well. You will also be working across Business Analysts, Project Managers, QA, Software Engineers ****** a very collaborative environment where you and your growing team will have opportunity to learn different technologies.

The CTO was bought on board just under 2 years (head hunted from one of the best tech teams in the U.K, and fastest growing/lucrative business in the world) to grow I.T to 30 40 people. He has implemented a heavy agile environment and helped the business recognise the importance of training their developers and utilising the most cutting edge technology available. We are now bringing a Business Intelligence Developer to help support the BI manager in building and implementing this function from the ground up.

What boxes do you need to tick?
Experience building up Business Intelligence solutions using the Microsoft SQL Server (SSIS, SSRS, SSAS) - with a focus on ETL and reporting
Don't worry too much about SSAS If you have SSAS, that is a bonus
Extensive knowledge of Data warehouse design and interest in greenfield projects
Understanding and experience of reporting (designing reporting functions and transforming the way the business understand and interpret key information)
Transforming reports into visual representation with good knowledge of BI tools and trends

Excellent business acumen and the ability to liaise/ influence stakeholders on all levels
Ambitious, determined and passionate about Data and BI
