Steve Lord is recruiting for an Embedded Software Architect to work for a pioneering medical device company from their head quarters in Warwickshire, UK. The Embedded Software Architect will be working on a full time permanent basis at their site in Warwickshire. This client is offering an opportunity to join and work for an innovative medical device company, who have a passion and vision to improve patients lives for the better through the use of their products.

Overall function of the job:
The primary function of the Embedded Software Architect is to provide the technical leadership for all things embedded software related within the organisation. You will lead on creation and evolution of the software for the company's products, from software requirements elicitation, software architecture, low-level designs and working as interface between software department and engineering.

As an embedded software engineer you should have demonstrable skills, experience and qualifications:
-Degree qualified, preferably in engineering or IT
-Significant experience in delivering complex, real-time control software solutions
-track record of creating and deploying new software designs
-design of software architecture for embedded systems in a safety critical, high integrity or real time environment.
-experience of embedded C
-software development process experience in Scrum & V Model

Main responsibilities:
-Software requirement gathering and maintaining documentation structure
-Software architectures -origination, maintenance and review of deterministic, multi-threaded, multi-processor software architectures
-Low-level software designs - review, ensure compliance with architecture
-Act as primary technical interface between software engineering and other engineering disciplines
-mentoring other engineers in implementing code to standards
-ensure compliance with coding standards and design
-ensure adequate unit-testing and coding to implement agreed software designs
-ensure software designs are testable and devise effective solutions for testing
-coordination preparation, release and deployment of production software in accordance with QMS requirements
-lead and support triaging process for management of bugs and identification of software failure scenarios
-design and documentation of risk control measures related to software
