At i-teachers we work closely with Secondary Schools across inner and outer London who are looking for talented English graduates who wish to pursue a career in education, to support teachers in the classroom whilst gaining invaluable experience.
Our aim is to place you at a school that would benefit your future career plans which would include arranging and coordinating your trial day.
The Learning Support Assistant role would see you working under the guidance of the schools SENCo, to support pupils in and out of the classroom, many of the children will have autism and other communication difficulties. You should be able to display good communication skills as you will have to liaise between both students and class teachers, have a patient manner and be proactive within the classroom.
As an English subject specialist you would be aiding pupils from year 7 to year 11 who will be preparing for their GCSE exams in the summer. It is vital that you have an English related degree graded 1st or 2:1.
London schools have a proven track record of working with graduates, giving them the required skills and experience to become future 'Outstanding' teachers! Most have teacher training programmes and use this as a 'foundation year' to progress onto teacher training the following year.
This experience also looks fantastic on any future applications for a PGCE, Schools Direct or MA and also pays £300 - £400 per week.
