Job Specification:

This position is a multifunction Service Desk and Desktop support role and will require an individual to solve customer support issues via a telephone and physical visit to the customer's location. Candidates will be required to know the desk side environment and tools. The candidate will be located at the customer site.

Key areas of responsibility:

  • Answering, creating, analyzing, resolving, updating and closing of customer requests
  • ITSMS Tool Set (Ticket Management Software) (preferred)
  • Desktop/Laptop - Hardware and Software Troubleshooting
  • Ability to resolve Windows 7/8/10 Operating System Errors
  • Basic Network troubleshooting skills and knowledge
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 2010/2013/2016 Applications
  • Troubleshooting and resolving software issues
  • Understanding of virus scan software tools and their associated detection / eradication procedures
  • ITSMS Tool Set (Ticket Management Software) (preferred)
  • Ability to correctly prioritize, update incidents / requests in a detailed, accurate and timely manner
  • Proficient in Microsoft Active Directory Principles
  • Able to diagnose printer / peripheral device failures (and implement the associated corrective action)
  • Provide installation and upgrade services of supported hardware and software
  • Some hardware support experience required e.g. installing memory/hard drives
  • Backing up and restoring settings and associated systems
  • Performing systems administration as appropriate including (but not limited to):
    • o Windows user administration
    • o Hardware maintenance requests (outsourcing requests from client?s infrastructure)
  • Possess a sound understanding of client IT policies and effectively be able to communicate them
  • Remote Desktop assistance and secure authentication procedures
  • Understanding of PDA?s e.g. iPhone, iPad etc.
  • Completion of systems and support documentation including:
    • o Completing hardware and software backup/restore documentation
    • o Providing suggestions/resolutions for inclusion in the Help Desk Knowledge Base
  • Carry out any other additional tasks as necessary

  • Previous experience with support of Windows desktops and a working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
  • A good understanding of Remote Assistance (remote desktop, SMS, WebEx, Windows remote assistance)
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with a clear and concise written and verbal communication style
  • Be conscientious with the ability to remain clam under pressure
