As a KS1 Primary Mentor you will support across Key Stage 1, working alongside teachers in both Year 1 and 2. You will get the chance to observe outstanding teaching within the classroom and also deliver your own interventions to small targeted groups. You will begin to adapt planning and use your excellent core subject knowledge to deliver inspiring and creative group sessions across KS1.
You will be liaising with the class teachers to develop accelerated progress in both reading and writing- this is to ensure all children are given the full support they deserve, whilst boosting their development.
The school also benefits from a outdoor classroom and learning enviroment, encourging the children to learn through play. Furthermore there is a forest school on site which you will receive training for.
The requirements for this role would be to possess strong academic background and demonstrate clear and concise written and spoken communication skills. Ideally you will have a core Maths or English degree with a 1st or 2.1 grade and you will have experience working with young children.
