Senior UI Developer (Reactjs, Extjs, Angularjs)
Let me set the scene...
You are sitting at home, or maybe sitting in the office during a break. You might even be on the train home from work. To be honest, it doesn't matter where you are. What matters is what you are doing... i.e. searching for a new job.
Where do you begin! Whether its copy and pasted job descriptions, recruiters trying to sound technical (I am a recruiter so I am aware this could potentially be ironic) or badly written sales pitches, the majority of job ads fail to do one thing...
Explain what the role actually consists of!
So with that in mind, I wanted to take you on an 'applicant journey' (bear with me)...
That journey begins with an enterprise organisation in the Finance/Banking space. They are based in Knutsford, Cheshire and are an organisation with a truly 'global' feel. Technology has and always play a major part in how they operate and this role is part of an enormous recruitment drive as they look to tackle early-2018 head on.
This role sits within a business-critical area of the organisation, focusing on software that tackles IT security and compliance. This product has its fingers in many pies so to speak and this role will involve taking up a senior position within that development function, helping to craft the UI and provide a high level of technical guidance to the team.
That journey continues with their requirements... which are pretty detailed. So rather than copying and pasting them into this job ad, I am going to strip everything back and focus on the key things that they are looking for from any prospective applicants:
* UI/Front End Development - You will be working on a number of web-based applications using technologies such as HTML5, Bootstrap and CSS. Demonstratable knowledge of responsive web design and UI development is therefore a crucial component to be considered
* Software Engineering - Although this is a front end/UI focused role, an understanding and some commercial experience with back end Java EE technologies would be a huge benefit, primarily due to this role being a Senior Developer position. Any experience working with Java technologies would be a huge plus and would certainly boost your chances of securing the role.
* Technical Understanding - This role will involve working in a hybrid Agile/Waterfall environment but they are moving towards being fully Agile. Experience with core Agile methodologies such as Scrum/Kanban would be hugely beneficial as would a Scrum Master certification.
* Communication - Communication in general (both written and oral) is absolutely crucial for this role. Your soft skills will be of paramount importance as your role will involve building and nurturing relationships with varying people in the business and working closely with a range of stakeholders throughout the software development lifecycle. Therefore, the ability to communicate to varying members of the engineering function is really important and crucial to be successful in applying for this role.
So you are now probably thinking... 'Where does this journey end?'.
Well that bit is entirely up to you.
If you want the journey to continue to a phone call with me, then give me a call on either ************* or ************
Alternatively, if you would prefer to send me a copy of your CV or even an inquisitive email then you can try **************************.
However, if you would prefer to end this journey here then all I can say is thank you for reading this advert!
Anything discussed will be kept confidential.
**Please note that this organisation does not offer visa sponsorship. All applicants must be eligible to work in the UK to be considered for this position.
