Area Process Engineer

Salary - £20,000 to £30,000 dependent on experience

Central Shropshire

Our client is a prestigious manufacturing business, now looking to recruit an Area Process Engineer to join their growing team. The company are willing to look at Graduates, with the relevant degree or highly experienced individuals.

This key role will involve becoming an expert on the company manufacturing process, maintaining control whilst developing and working towards improvement and ensuring KPI?s are achieved, while at the same time ensuring the process remains safe and consistent.

Responsibilities:

  • Developing in depth knowledge of production technology and processes
  • Monitoring and increasing process capability
  • Working proactively to ensure departmental KPI?s are achieved, including productivity, costing etc
  • Resolve escalated issues within your area
  • Maintain accurate date records
  • Ensure area contribution to company health & safety procedures
  • Building positive working relationships with colleagues, suppliers and customers
  • Internal audit participation
  • Identifying areas for training and development of area employees
  • Management of HR issues within your area
  • Actively working to reduce or maintain production costs
  • Stand in for the Area Operations Manager

Skills:

  • Experience of manufacturing processes, process control, engineering principles and lean manufacturing - Lean six sigma green belt would be advantageous
  • Previous experience within a continual improvement environment and the desire to apply this knowledge and approach
  • Relevant degree/qualification, for example Engineering, Science, Technology or Manufacturing related
  • Strong IT skills and the ability to use computer based systems and interpret data
  • Excellent written skills ? able to produce clear and concise reports and documents
  • Effective and confident communication skills
