I am currently recruiting for a number of 3D Unigraphics Design Engineers on a Contract basis to work for my client based in the Midlands / South West.

My client is one of the best names in the Automotive industry and they are actively looking for a number of Electrical Design Engineers with Unigraphics / NX to join their new exciting project.

Positioned as Harness Design Engineer the successful candidate will be responsible for the design of a new wiring system.

* Working from initial concepts to create and develop a new harness routing.
* Using existing powertrain circuit information and utilising new system information to create wiring harness drawings for initial costs with the requirement to then implement into full production.
* Responsible for release of components, harness drawings using NX harness design software and bill of materials.
*To liaise with System Owners progressing information relevant to 3D models
*Hands on creation of 3D models to produce harness drawings to customer standards
*To attend packaging meetings, presenting and justifying preferred solutions
*Deliver 3D models to project timing
*To jointly own specific harnesses, in conjunction with Manufacturing and Harness Engineers
* Problem resolution of vehicle electrical issues.
* Drawing of circuit and harness diagrams.
* Prototype design & manufacture of harness systems and vehicle electrics.
* Responsible for all engineering design and validation aspects of the electrical distribution during vehicle launch phases and volume production
* Transforming 3D Virtual designs and models into fully engineered harness product

The Candidate
Knowledge of Vehicle Electrical Systems and circuits
*3D Modelling experience using NX10 or any 3D modelling tool is advantageous
*Educated to HNC/Degree level, or equivalent, in a Electrical Engineering discipline
*Excellent communication and negotiation skills
*Ability to generate 3D designs suitable for manufacture and installation
*Understanding of harness product, vehicle installation, and manufacturing constraints an advantage.
*Demonstrable understanding of AC/DC electrical principles
*Design Components
*Excellent communication skills
*Have a sound understanding of the harness manufacturing processes
*Team player
