Engineering Project Manager (R&D) - Deeside, Flintshire

£45,000 - £55,000 + Health + Pension +Benefits-Package

This business specialises in the design and manufacture of highly engineered equipment and automation for the automotive & aerospace industry. They have gone through extensive growth in recent years and are seeking to expand into new markets and grow further over the coming years.

This is an internal project management role where you will be taking ownership of projects working alongside departments such as design and development.

  • Define and communicate clear project deliverables and performance targets with customers.

  • Manage all aspects of assigned projects to meet profitability and financial targets, delivering products and services in line with customer needs, within timing expectations, and the long-term success of the organization.

  • Manage projects with responsibility for project planning, development, and change management; input to budget development and updating; clearly defining assigned project deliverables to the program manager; risk mitigation; proposal / quote / processing; material procurement planning, assembly, installation, and change management for assigned projects.

  • Coordinate assigned project relationships and expectations in conjunction with overall program deliverables.

  • Liaise with Engineering support teams to deliver design approvals to plan.

  • Track performance of the manufacturing team to ensure on-time delivery.

  • Provide on-site direction to assigned project technicians to ensure completion of defined support duties beginning with system integrator testing, Plant introduction, and long term system support.

This is a key appointment in a business that will provide superb development and progression opportunities that will require the following skills & experience:

  • Degree qualified in an Engineering related discipline. Member of the Association for Project Management (APM).

  • Good knowledge of NPI and NPD. This is still a very technical engineering role, so a background in design/development will be an advantage.

  • Flexible on background, the most important thing is you are process driven.

  • Proven track record in delivering high-value projects.

  • Ability to demonstrate time and people management skills, with experience of lean engineering principles.

  • Excellent communication skills, with experience working within a fast moving environment.
