Software Tester - Norwich - Salary DOE Circa £35,000
Tech partners are working exclusively with an exciting new hi-tech start-up business who aim to disrupt their sector with a host of new products. The business are hoping to bring onboard an experienced software tester who will take an active role in requirement gathering, and is able to build their test function 'from the ground up' including automation.
The ideal candidate will need to be passionate about technology and software testing practices, and want to take a positive role in the growth of a new business. With an active growth plan, this role in time should have the opportunity to take a lead role in building a test team eventually, but initially it's about setting up the function, and building the test environment, whilst helping to define and gather requirements for new developments.
The organisation supplies technical services and consultation to clients across a range of industries, including agriculture, mining, and marine services, and has the luxury of being backed by a much larger parent organisation. As a result, you will get the opportunity to be part of a fast-paced disruptive hi-tech business with a start-up feel, but with the security of a larger firm behind the scenes.
The role offers a rare and exciting opportunity for someone to take a 'blank page' in terms of test environment, and help to define the processes and requirements for a set of new products using best practice. The software you'll be helping to develop will have a real-world output at the 'sharp-end' of the industry. The role will suit an analytical, detail oriented tester who wants to be involved across the full development lifecycle.
Examples of experience that would be useful include:
- Testing of Cloud based software
- Manual testing
- Writing test plans, test cases and test scripts
- Automation experience QTP, Selenium, or other test tools.
- Requirement gathering experience
- Experience working within an agile environment.
- Full software development lifecycle exposure.
The successful candidate will form part of a specialized team of talented software professionals working on state-of-the-art software in a purpose built new office in the heart of the city. Whoever secures the role, will be 'in on the ground floor' of a business set to make waves within an exciting space. If you want to work on interesting software problems, in a nice environment, with great career potential - this could be the perfect next role for you.
If you'd like to know more about the role, please apply with a current CV, or contact Tom Gosney who is consultant dealing with the account.
