Job Title: Painting and Decorating TrainerLocation: Various London Establishments including HMP Brixton, HMP ISIS, HMP Wandsworth amongst othersHours: Full time, permanent, 37.5 hours per weekSalary: £26,000 – £30,000 Bounce Back are looking to hire Painting and Decorating Trainers to be based at their various London establishments across South London.Applicants should be able and willing to deliver Painting and Decorating courses within a custodial setting on an ad hoc basis (to cover leave) in order prepare prisoners for employment upon release. You will set high expectations for the work environment and your learners in terms of security, health and safety and outcomes for learners.ResponsibilitiesProvide training in Painting and DecoratingEnsure and promote a safe working environment in line with Bounce Back and prison policiesPlan engaging and challenging sessions with course material that meets the need of individual learnersProvide feedback to trainees in order to help them progress and actively engage learners in their own evaluation and assessmentMaintain group profiles, individual learning plans and additional learning support recordsInvigilate examinations and ensure that portfolios and written records are up to date to satisfy internal and external quality assurance criteriaQualifications and Person SpecificationAt least 3 years experience working within Painting and DecoratingLevel 3 vocational qualificationIdeally hold a Teaching qualification, level 4 or above (DTTLS, PGCE, Cert Ed) – Bounce Back are willing to put a candidate through a teaching qualification if requiredHave excellent written and spoken communication skillsExperience of leading and motivating others, ideally in a training environmentEnthusiastic with a can do attitude and a real desire to add valueProactive and self-motivated with the ability to ‘think on your feet’Successful candidates will be required to undertake full security clearance.About Bounce BackBounce Back Foundation specialises in reducing reoffending by providing training, support and employment opportunities to ex-offenders. The Charity provides, training both in prison and in the community along with tailored support for participants whilst in prison, and resettlement services through the gate until sustainable employment is achieved. The Social Enterprise is a small painting, decorating and refurbishment business that provides on the job, training, and longer term employment options. In addition, further employment opportunities exist with a wide range of employment partners in the construction industry. The Charity has training centres or projects in several prisons in and around London, with three training centres within HMP Brixton alone. Our primary focus is to reduce reoffending by supporting ex-offenders into paid employment in construction.
