Tool Design Engineer
Main tasks and responsibilities will be to deliver technical designs and build philosophy validation for a new lean production system.
You will do this though:
Creation of qualified jig and tool/MGSE design solutions and Bills of materials involving partners / suppliers to safety, quality, cost and time
On time, cost and quality of PDR, CDR, delivery, installation, 1st article support and handover (including vaulting and data-pack creation) of all tooling projects
Interrogation of data in SolidWorks and CATIA V6/Windchill to data exchange relevant data to suppliers.
Identification and embodiment of jig and tool process improvements that could save time or reduce re-occurring costs to the business.
PLM toolset and BOM administration/configuration control (co-ordinate with design)
Achievement of J&T and business Health and Safety targets.
Enablement of the ?Right First Time? Quality culture with associated business systems and feedback loops
Required Skills & Experience:
The successful candidate will demonstrate the following:
3 years? experience of hand on tool design / maintenance or calibration discipline.
Innovative, agile and self-driven in a fast paced and changing environment.
Experience of ME tools and processes
Experience of project management including deployment of jigs and tools / processes and change / time management / CapEx management.
Competence using SolidWorks or CATIA V6 competent and PLM tools
Knowledge of Aerospace Production and assembly techniques and standards
Able to work in a multi-function team and matrix organisation.
Knowledge of CFRP part fabrication / layup production techniques
