Create Flavours is a rapidly growing, vibrant company, producing food flavourings for customers across the UK and European Food Markets. The ethos of the company is based around outstanding service coupled with providing our customers with creative solutions and innovations. We are seeking a Raw material buyer to support the operations team in all aspects of purchasing. This position would suit an energetic person who can manage a fast paced environment, ideally someone with experience in this field.

We are looking for a confident team player who has the ability to develop and implement systems and confidently analyse data to discover improvement opportunities in the purchasing of large quantities of flavour chemicals.

Scope of the role

1) Purchasing Raw Materials & Consumables

Ensuring that material stocks are kept at the optimum level to support the businesses financial and service objectives and regulatory obligations.Ensuring that the Company’s Purchase Order procedures are adhered to.Purchasing Raw Materials, Packaging & Consumables from approved suppliers & establishing new suppliers as appropriate. Negotiating to achieve the optimum blend of quality/best price/best service.Checking of purchase orders, invoices and contract documents to ensure accuracy and liaising with finance to rectify and discrepancies. Liaising with other Create staff; particularly in supply chain, planning & production to ensure items arrive promptly to meet customer requirements. Organising regular stock cycle counts and annual stock counts.Investigating and documenting any stock discrepancies: RCA and corrective/preventative actions.2) Developing the Purchasing Processes and Procedures

Implementation of KanBans/Spreadsheets/Documentation to improve the reliability, efficiency and integration of the purchasing role within the businessAnalysis of data from the ERP and spreadsheets to identify improvement opportunities.Development and reporting of financial KPI’s.Establishing best relations with our suppliers to secure best service and support.Chairing regular Purchasing meetings to inform management of purchasing issues & opportunities, their potential impact on the business and to drive actions.3) Support for Flavour Development

Liaise with the Technical Director and his team to assist in sourcing of new Raw Materials for flavour development.Liaise with the Quality Manager and his team to assist in the sourcing of essential Regulatory documentation and information from suppliersLiaise with the Sales Managers to investigate new flavour sales opportunities where RM cost/lead-time is critical.4) Supply Chain Support

Contributing to the Supply Chain open plan office environment: responding to internal and external phone-calls, organisation of electronic and paper data for easy general access, support for health and safety issues.5) Key Attributes

6) Qualifications

  • Educated to degree level
  • 2 years related experience

  • £25,000-£28000 dependent on experience
