My client, an ambitious, Mayfair based hedge fund is seeking to expand their investor relations team as they look to increase AUM after a history of double digit performance. The IR & Marketing team is conjoined and currently stands at 4 people with two client service analysts looking after two senior marketers who operate throughout EMEA and the US. One of the asset raiser also wears the ?Head of IR? hat and directs the analysts in completion of RFIs, RFPs, creation of factsheets, presentations, brand strategy and organisation thematic.

Due to the asset raising drive, the senior is relinquishing all client service duties and management of the two analysts to concentrate on a global roadshow campaign. As a result, my client seeks an Investor Relations Professional ? preferably associate/VP level looking to step up ? to head up the investor relations team, as well as actively take on asset raising responsibilities. It is not required that this hire has previously raised assets, as the preference is to sit as no.2 to the co-heads of marketing and develop as their protégé. The investor relations manager will maintain all existing investor relationships, liaising across the portfolio management subset to deliver current news, existing as the single conduit between fund performance and the investor base.

This hire will ideally have hedge fund IR and some sales experience, although this is not a pre-requisite. They will have managed a client services team, be comfortable dealing with institutional investors from across EMEA, and show the potential to replace one of the heads of marketing. In return, this person will receive a base salary in excess of the market rate, and a bonus that may reach multiples of base.
