Emerald Publishing are currently seeking a Tax and Compliance Executive for our Bingley Head Office.

You will work on preparing a number of indirect tax returns and assisting in the preparation of direct tax returns for both the Group's UK companies and worldwide subsidiaries.

As a Tax and Compliance Executive, you will also cover the supervision and review of the Group's internal reporting requirements and controls, with a view to identify gaps and improvements to internal processes.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to specialise in taxation, who has the ability to understand, evaluate and interpret various financial data.

Key Responsibilities:

* Assisting with monitoring and maintaining of deadlines for tax returns and tax payments worldwide.
* Analysis of tax sensitive expenses within the profit and loss for inclusion within tax computations.
* Assisting with the preparation of year end provisions for a portfolio of companies within the UK for inclusion in the group accounts as well as a number of international subsidiaries.
* Involvement with claiming tax credits on research and development expenditure.

Essential Requirements:

* Full or partial accounting qualification in either finance or taxation.
* A basic understanding of the UK tax system is essential, with a focus on VAT and Corporation Tax.
* Up to date technical knowledge of UK corporate tax and awareness of UK VAT rules.
* Confident in ability to research new and unknown technical areas. Draw conclusions and recommendations from the research.
* Knowledge of international tax environment.
* Confident in managing external advisors.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office.
* Excellent written and oral communication skills.
