Large process manufacturing site based near Birmingham requires an experienced Mechanical Project Engineer to help support a number of Installation plant improvement projects, managing contractors and focussing on installation and commissioning. Heavy Industrial Process Environment.
Project Engineer in mechanical installation projects in a process driven environment, working with some autonomy.
Installation and Commissioning supervision and control.
Attention to detail.
Logical, methodical approach to planning.
Ability to prioritise.
Works to a high standard both in administration and in the field.
Identifying/finding solutions outside of the norm that can be implemented to reduce time pressures at critical project phases (Planning and using intuition)
Mechanical or Projects background.
Computer literate. Competent with excel, word, sharepoint, planning tools etc.
Strong personal, verbal and written communication skills, and ability to deal with contractors and staff alike.
Self-motivated, team worker, flexible and adaptable.
The job holder is responsible for providing project engineering support for the site investment projects. This includes developing costed scheme design proposals and recommendations for implementation and acting as site lead engineer on agreed aspects. The job holder is required to work with other project team members, site engineers, other site departments, consultant designers, suppliers, contract labour , other services and specialists as required.
