I am currently working with one of my clients who are one of the UKs largest most influential Automotive OEM'S in the UK. They are currently searching for a Body Interiors Engineer for Instrument Panel and cockpit systems to join their team on a long term rolling contract basis

You will be based within the body engineering team working onsite the production plant in the West Midlands

Base 40 hours per week with a 3.30 pm finish on all Fridays

£22.17 per hour Limited company / umbrella

Location: Gaydon

Position Description:

  • Project Engineer for Cockpit Systems (Instrument Panel) for forward model programmes
  • Skills Required: 3 KEY SKILLS REQIRED
  • Engineering knowledge of Cockpit system design, function, performance, production & manufacturing requirements.
  • Proven Project management capability demonstrated by recent delivery on time & budget.
  • Excellent communications skills. Demonstrated ability to communicate at all levels

Experience Required:

  • PC Literacy Microsoft Project, Power Point, Excel, Word etc
  • CAD Literacy ability to manipulate and interrogate CAD data and use associated visualisation tools.
  • Ability to generate CAD data in Catia v5 would be an advantage.
  • Significant experience in use of engineering tools FMEA, Six Sigma, problem resolution etc.
  • Any person supplied should have a valid UK driving licence
  • Working knowledge of project delivery processes GPDS / FPDS / PRINCE2 or similar
  • Working knowledge of change management processes

Experience Preferred:

  • Ideally within the automotive sector or adjacent industries, eg rail, aerospace, defence, energy etc

Additional Information:

  • Role could involve periods of residency at manufacturing sites during the launch phases.
