Instrument Calibration & Repair Technician
Instrument Calibration and Repair team are responsible for the calibration, repair and maintenance of all instrumentation used in vehicle testing. We support the goals of the business by ensuring that all instrumentation used for measurement within the business is fully traceable to International or National Standards.

Experience
2 years in a similar role within a multi-parameter UKAS Accredited Calibration laboratory.

Skills
Perform multi-disciplinary instrument calibration without supervision to approved procedures.
Maintain proper calibration records.
Work as a team with other Department Staff.
Perform an initial assessment of instrument faults arising during calibration.
Maintain laboratory systems for calibration equipment storage.
Use computer databases for equipment management.
Quickly learn the use of new reference equipment & methods.
Planning and execution of instrument calibration on client sites including client liaison.
Assist Engineering staff with the development of calibration methods & reference equipment.
Preparation of technical calibration reports for clients.
Use computer based systems for the processing of calibration data.
Ensure all reference standards and calibration equipment are maintained and used in a suitable manner.
Use of manual handling equipment.
Ability to carry out fault finding to component level.
Good soldering skills including ability to replace surface mount devices, preferably with IPC-610 and IPC-620 training.

Qualifications
HNC (Level 4) in Electronic Engineering or Equivalent.
Driving licence
or
HND (Level 5) in Electronic Engineering or equivalent.
Measurement NVQ Level 3
