IBP Recruitment Ltd are looking for a Senior Account Technician to join an established accounting firm in the West.

The main duties include the responsibility for the following:

  • Ensuring that clients receive an appropriate level of service to meet their business needs by:
  • Preparing annual and management accounts for both corporate and unincorporated entities ensuring details are accurate with clear neat working papers to reflect the accounts produced and ensuring clear cross-referencing
  • Completing detailed schedules for each set of accounts to ensure the analysis is correct and logical as required
  • Maintaining productive relationships with all assigned clients to resolve any queries or issues as they arise during accounts preparation raising any issues with more senior staff as necessary
  • Completing basic tax computations for clients
  • Composing correspondence to clients, tax office, registrar of companies and others
  • Undertaking specific accounting projects for clients as required
  • Supporting the development of the business by:
  • Identifying opportunities for the provision of additional services
  • Actively supporting all sales, promotional, marketing and networking activities of the organisation either to current clients or targets.
  • In order to meet the demands of your role undertake relevant training and development to ensure you are technically up to date and professionally competent
  • Identifies business development opportunities when carrying out work and advises more senior staff/specialists of these through the appropriate mechanisms
  • Assists senior staff in targeting and approaching clients, participating in business development activities as requested
  • Presents a positive self-image of Monahan's through enthusiasm, attitude and approach
  • Complying with procedures required under Practice Assurance and the Money Laundering Regulations
  • Maintaining a personal CPD record and keeping up to date in order to be able to sign the annual CPD Certificate as required by your institute or to meet the firm's obligations under Practice Assurance
  • Following advice and instructions from senior staff regarding work to be completed as required
  • Advising and coaching more junior members of the team, providing support and acting as a mentor for agreed trainees
  • Providing feedback to manager regarding activities to ensure that they are fully aware of any issues
  • Participating in regular performance reviews (at least twice yearly)
  • Ensures all work is completed to standards required by senior staff and clients
  • Gives appropriate support to more junior team members in a timely and appropriate manner, coaching individuals as necessary
  • Supports colleagues by providing input
  • Helps colleagues develop imaginative solutions to problems
  • Briefs managers effectively on workload progress and relevant issues
  • Establish working relationships with clients, responding directly to any concerns in an efficient and professional manner
  • Listens to feedback from clients and adapts approach according to the client needs
  • Uses technical/professional knowledge effectively in carrying out client work ensuring work is completed to timescale and budget appropriately
  • Ensures that all key information is provided to the client
  • Demonstrates understanding of wider business and economic issues and how this affects the client

The ideal candidate for this role should have the following skills & qualifications:

  • Appropriate practice experience
  • AAT or QBE Qualified
