In this role, you'll sit with EE's Technology Labs department. In an extremely fast paced and changeable environment this role requires someone who will hit the ground running and work collaboratively with Testers, Designers and the Operations team to make EE and BT's fixed and mobile services the best in the UK. Day-to-day responsibilities will include service development, configuration and troubleshooting; with the ability to think on your feet and make quick, informed remedial decisions should process falter. What you'll do:

  • Collaborate with other team members in a great supportive environment to help deliver new mobile phone services
  • Support the Design process by building and configuring appropriate test environments in our Technology Labs.
  • Help specify and trial new products prior to deployment
  • Work with project teams to develop design & test scopes and requirements
  • Create and review low-level designs
  • Promote a process-orientated environment - ensuring changes and incidents are managed effectively.

You'll definitely:

  • Be from an engineering background with solid Core Network technical skills and experience in one or more of the following areas:
    • Mobile Data - EPC, ePDG
    • Mobile Voice - IMS, HSS, PCRF
    • Signalling - Diameter, SIP, SS7
    • Value Added Services - Messaging, Charging

Have an appetite for new technologies - such as NFV, SDN, 5G, IoT.

  • Have proved your ability to work collaboratively to deliver projects on-time, on-budget and to spec.
  • Have proven skills in using tracing tools and techniques to diagnose faults and drive resolution
  • Be experienced in driving good practise around processes, specifically Incident, Change and Configuration Management
  • Be comfortable working across teams and projects, prioritising effectively.
  • Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills
