Job description:
Carry out the tuning and development of objective Ride and vertical dynamics attributes, working in the vehicle dynamics department for a new passenger vehicle platform using simulation and virtual tools.

Core responsibilities:
You will be carrying out full vehicle simulations to support the attribute development of the vehicle to meet its ride and vertical dynamics targets through the lifecycle of the vehicle/platform. You will be responsible for generating tuning sensitivity QFDs using design of experiments and execution of sensitivity studies in CAE packages like MSC.ADAMS and Matlab. In addition, you will lead the cascading of targets from vehicle to sub-system level.

You will also be involved in ensuring that vehicle level targets are compatible with the agreed sub-system level requirements. You will also be responsible for integrating and updating the vehicle models with up to date sub-system models generated in house and by suppliers.

Day to day duties:
? Build & maintain up to date and correlated vehicle Parametric & MBS models
? Carry out Ride and vertical dynamics simulations
? Carry out control system integration into vehicle dynamics models through Simulink
? Presentation of results and analysis
? Confirm base vehicle architecture and geometries are compatible with attribute targets
? Confirm K&C targets meet full vehicle response.

While, liaising with Axle performance engineers who are responsible for delivering K&C targets and chassis module owners, while correlating and over-checking with physical testing (4-poster and SPMM test rigs, objective vehicle response measurements etc.) at every prototype stage.

Knowledge/skills/tools required
? Strong knowledge and interest of vehicle dynamics theory
? Knowledge and prior experience with full vehicle dynamics ride simulations, control system integration and durability/loads simulation and analysis
? Proficient in use of Adams/Car
? Proficient in use of using Matlab-Simulink
? Experience of 4-poster and K&C Testing

Experience required
? 3 years? experience, minimum 2 years, Automotive industry / Tier-1 consultancy experience
? Proven experience of CAE correlation and validation and error-state resolution
? Experience of taking a program through virtual tuning to prototype build and to production will be beneficial
? Knowledge of systems best practices, test procedure generation and attribute DNAs will be beneficial

Education
? A degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent (other relevant engineering disciplines will be considered).
