The cyber security market is one of the richest niches within the IT industry. This market is dominated by 'here today, gone tomorrow' and 'you might become a paper millionaire' wannabes. For sure, a small proportion of these punts comes off but they are a small proportion. My client is one of the 'old guard'. They're an instantly recognisable brand in the sector and the IT security sales people who work in this business have solid, stable careers of always around target and earning significant amounts of money.

My client sells a range of product, professional services and managed services. They take a holistic view of the client's estate and are able to meet most of the needs the clients has. The average IT sales values can vary dramatically and range into the tens of millions.

The client end user varies across the different roles that the client has (discussed in more detail below) but all are large enterprises and all are in either in the FTSE 500 or big enough to be in that group.

The client has briefed IRC group for three IT sales roles


New business IT security sales person selling into new logo brands. This role will carry a TCV target of £2m - £2m, depending on basic package

Package, £50k - £70k basic, double OTE


A new business IT security sales role selling into existing accounts (in an overlay fashion). The company has some large managed services contracts and is part of nearly every buying framework you can imagine.

Package, £50k - £70k basic, double OTE


A player manager role. Managing a team of two IT security sales people and carrying a small personal target. It's in the budget for this role to increase headcount and ultimately become a full time, management only IT security sales role.

Package £75k basic, double OTE


Location - all of the roles are home based

Background - you must have a proven track record in IT sales and in a function aligned with one of the aforementioned roles. It would be ideal if you have cyber security IT sales experience but my client will consider candidates who have worked in the VAR/managed services channel.
